Switzerland: most popular holiday destination

According to the "Global Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report 2008" Switzerland is the most popular holiday destination among 130 world-wide evaluated countries. Another study by Reader’s Digest 2008 shows, that Switzerland received the highest score of 72% regarding level of trust in European countries as a holiday destination.

For travellers whose schedule includes a lengthy stopover in Zurich, but who do not want to spend all that time at the airport waiting for their onward journey, a new service is now available: Short guided tours are a welcome alternative and offer an opportunity to see some of Switzerland’s greatest attractions or spend a few hours discovering the city of Zurich. Participants are brought back to Zurich Airport after the tour is finished, and can take some vivid impressions of Switzerland with them on their onward journey.
The programme includes three different guided tours, all of which are carried out daily in German, English and Spanish. Tours in other languages are available for groups by arrangement.

Business travel also getting a move on
According to the six leading Swiss business travel specialists, the volume of sales in business travel to Switzerland has gained 12.5 percent in 2007. Speaking about Swiss business travel, we talk about a volume of sales of about 3.4 to 3.8 billion CHF per year.
What is true for holiday makers is certainly valid for business travellers: Zurich Airport is the best gateway to Switzerland!
